First Focus RS500 makes its way to Ford's Heritage Museum
Having finished its motoring press cycle, the first production example of Ford's limited run hot hatch is heading to the company's museum at Dagenham in east London, UK, joining other famous blue oval models such as the 1970 London to Mexico winning Escort, the RS200 and the 2005 GT supercar.
The RS500 is based on the standard Focus RS featuring a tweaked 2.5-liter turbocharged inline-five with 350HP, a matte black 'foil' wrap and special interior trim.
Ford built 500 retail units of the RS500, plus 12 cars for demonstration and press purposes. This here example is also the first right-hand drive press unit in the UK, number PR001. Only 101 right-hand Focus RS500 were available in the UK, and all were spoken for within days of launch.
Ford corporate affairs manager, Brian Bennett, said: "The heritage collection is the largest collection of roadworthy historic Ford vehicles in the UK and includes some of the industry's most famous vehicles such as the Ford Model T and the Ford Cortina. Performance models feature strongly and the Ford Focus RS500 was an obvious choice to include as a future classic."

Will cars run Windows, requiring you to click the Start button to turn off the engine when done driving? No, not yet. Microsoft has just teamed up with Ford Motor to add a system that lets the driver control mobile phones and music players by voice commands or buttons on the steering wheel.
The system is called Sync and utilizes Bluetooth to connect to mobile phones. It will also provide a USB port as a charging option and also for wired connections.
Sync is expected to be available starting with the Ford Focus compact car in the new year. According to the deal, the technology will be exclusive to Ford cars till the end of 2008.

Over 40 million readers throughout Europe participated in choosing their favorite cars and performance parts. The top choices underwent a round of tests and analysis judged by a special jury. These tests were conducted at the test facility of the tire manufacturer Bridgestone in Aprilia near Rome, Italy. Participating in the professional jury are managing editors, technology specialist and racing drivers.
As John Fleming said proudly in a statement, "This is fantastic news and these awards fill us with pride. Together with the other awards that have been won by the Ford S-Max this latest accolade shows this car has touched a nerve with the public and the specialist media."
Well, it's proof enough that the S-Max has prevailed over its vehicle competitions.
